Her Bedsheets Rocked My World
I refuse to break the bank for bedding. I don’t care how long I’ve been out of college—I don’t feel the need to cement my adulthood by paying a small fortune for something as mundane as sheets. But one night about six months ago, a close friend let me stay at her place after a late night out, and her bed sheets rocked my world.
Kelsey has slept with Buffy’s Linen Sheet Set for the longest time, but her enthusiasm always went in one ear and out the other. I’m just fine with my $15.99 Amazon Basics set, thank you very much. Sleeping in Kelsey’s bed, though, was evocative of sleeping at a spa (or a hotel wayyy out of my price range). The sheets were extremely soft but not too heavy, and I almost fell out of bed when she told me she’d had them for two years. Not one bit of pilling in sight! I went on a full-out Buffy investigation as soon as I came home.
Which Buffy Sheets I Picked (And Why)
I learned that at this point, Buffy has three different lines of bedding: Cloud Sheets, Breeze Sheets, and Linen Sheets. I tend to be a very hot sleeper so the Breeze Sheets (which are supposedly cooling) caught my attention. All of their bed sheets vary in price according to size and material, with cotton Cloud Sheets coming in as the cheapest ($95-155) and Linen as the most expensive ($279-299). Breeze Sheets cost anywhere from $145 to $225.
The price was a far cry from my beloved, generic, gets-the-job-done Amazon set. But then I thought about the number of Amazon sets I’ve gone through in my time, and, well… the idea of not having to reinvest in sheets every year sounded amazing.
Any lingering hesitancy was squashed when I stumbled across Buffy’s miraculous 7-Day Free Trial. It’s exactly as good as it sounds. You can try any Buffy product for free for seven whole nights. It’s an indecisive buyer’s dream. You won’t be charged until the trial is over, and should you choose to forego the purchase, you can return it (also for free!!). I was sold. If it turned out that my bottom-tier bedding was comparable, I could return my Buffy sheets and forget I even had them. Case closed.
Who is Buffy… and Are They Worth It?
I also learned that Buffy first gained traction for their viral Cloud Comforter (known by most as the softest comforter in existence), and since then they’ve been developing sleep and lounge products that are equal parts eco-friendly, attractive, and functional. Environmental efficacy is at the heart of Buffy’s mission, and (a bit surprisingly) this means their products tend to be softer and more durable than others on the market. Eucalyptus-based TENCEL Lyocell and Linen, for example, get softer with every wash AND have a minimal impact on the planet.
Plus, Buffy has racked up the accolades. Like, they have so many. Publications ranging from Architectural Digest to Glamour have named Buffy “Best” in just about every category imaginable… Bed Sheets, Cooling Sheets, Luxury Sheets. I never thought sheets qualified with the word “Luxury” would be my speed, and it was a pleasant surprise to see.
My Thoughts on Buffy 3 Nights In
About a week later, I tucked myself in on Night #3 with my Full-Size Pink Clay-colored Breeze Sheets. My life felt complete.
At the risk of sounding dramatic, I instantly noticed a difference when I stripped off my old sheets and added Buffy’s Breeze Set. They have an almost sateen finish to them so that they feel decadent, but not too heavy. It is important to me that sheets are breathable because I wake up sweaty year-round, and the Breeze Sheets beyond deliver on that point. Buffy claims the material is “moisture-wicking” and I absolutely concur. Sleeping with them is like sleeping in fabric made entirely of the underside of your pillow. I think I knew from night one what my ultimate decision was going to be.
I Obvi Kept the Sheets
So… it’s been 6 months since that fateful night when my 7-Day Free Trial began. I’ve slept with my Breeze Sheets every night since. And let me tell you, high-quality bedding is nothing to turn your nose up at (I learned that one the hard way). My new sheets are beautifully colored, amazingly soft (yet breathable), and so resilient. I swear, my old set became threadbare long before the 6-month mark. But I know I have a long future with my current set of Breeze Sheets. I have my eye on a patterned set next (maybe Blush Stripe?).
I’ve taken a lot of slack from friends who say they thought I would never go so far as to invest in bedding, but for them, I have only one question: “Wanna stay over?” I’ve converted three friends (and counting) to Team Buffy. Their fabric (and subsequent pricing) range is extremely helpful… there’s a Buffy Sheet Set for every budget. I only wish I made the switch sooner.
