Cranberry juice, magnesium pills, and melatonin be d*mned…
I placed an order for the Buffy Cloud Comforter (Full/Queen size) in December 2024, roughly 5 years after it went viral and earned the title of “The Internet’s Favorite Comforter.”
Until then, no comforter had impressed me enough to stick, because I was still on the prowl when I got around to Buffy. To prevent you from the same repetitive test-running loop I was stuck in (spoiler: I’m officially free), I’m sharing everything I learned about Buffy’s Cloud Comforter.
My Journey to Buffy
My parents subscribe to a bunch of home magazines, so I’d read about Buffy in Good Housekeeping (the Cloud Comforter was ranked “Best Comforter Overall”) and Architectural Digest.
Buffy makes two comforters, and each has a cult following: the Breeze Comforter, known for its naturally cooling, eucalyptus-based TENCEL™ lyocell fabric, and the “internet-famous” Cloud Comforter. I’d always been curious…
While the Breeze Comforter has very positive reviews, the Cloud Comforter drew me in for its all-season functionality and cotton candy-esque, pillowy presence that is consistently imagined through all 24,000+ positive reviews.
Another fun detail about Buffy in general is that they let you order any product and sleep with it for up to 7 nights before deciding whether or not you want to sign it on full-time. (Only then will your card be charged). With stakes so low (and a tower of praise so high) I decided to give the Cloud a go…
1 Week In
My Cloud Comforter arrived quickly, and I immediately unpacked it. While unboxing, I noticed a few fun features:
- Loops in corners for attaching duvet ties
- Sleek stitching design
- Cool to the touch fabric shell
I’ve always been a duvet cover girlie, so previously, I would’ve really needed those loops (they truly make life so much easier). But since the Cloud Comforter is machine washable, I decided to try sleeping with it uncovered. And honestly, I also just liked how it looked on my bed.
The first night using my new comforter, I slept like a baby. I’m not sure if it was because of the cozy, voluminous presence of the comforter or the moisture-wicking shell that kept me at a perfect temperature—either way, the trend continued throughout the week.
The comforter was pillowy and had enough presence to keep me feeling cozy and snuggled up (my two bedding prerequisites) but wasn’t oppressively heavy or annoyingly light (I sound like Goldilocks, I know).
In short, it only took me a few nights to know I’d be keeping my Cloud Comforter way past the 7-day trial period.
Materials
To me, the most important element of a comforter is how it feels. That comes down to the composition. The Cloud Comforter interior is made with 100% GRS-certified, BPA-free, recycled PET fill (and upcycles roughly 50 plastic bottles in the process). The impressively soothing comforter shell is made from 300 thread count lyocell which is safe for pets and kids, extremely breathable, and moisture-wicking.
I also realized that the aesthetically pleasing stitched pattern serves as more than just decoration: it’s a proprietary pattern designed to lock the fill in place. That way, the comforter’s weight is evenly distributed and doesn’t require repositioning or fluffing.
After a few weeks under my Cloud Comforter I could see, feel, and understand how all of these production decisions came together. I felt it every night when I slipped swiftly to sleep in a temp-regulated cocoon of Buffy’s creation.
1 Month In
It’s going to sound cliche, but I’ll just come out and say it: trying the Cloud Comforter has rocketed me into a new era of sleep. It has everything I want for the pillar of my bedding… volume without heft, lasting fluffiness, and subtle temperature regulation to keep me comfy alllll night long.
My Final Verdict on the Cloud Comforter
The combination of high-quality materials and the innovative design details of The Cloud Comforter makes it deserving of each accolade and award that it’s received. Trying Buffy products is completely risk-free in light of their 7-Night Free Trial, free shipping, and 50-night return policy. I’m confident my Cloud Comforter and I will have many, many sleep-filled nights together. Chances are, you’ll feel the same.
