The new wave of fertility and conception support is simple, discreet, and done at home.

The influence of hormonal patterns on sexual and reproductive health is well-established.

By capturing the biological rhythms associated with ovulation and other cyclical variations, hormone monitors such as the acclaimed Mira Hormone Monitor provide personalized insights for women and help…

  • Manage irregular cycles or hormonal imbalances
  • Better understand hormonal health (and their bodies)
  • Try to conceive (TTC)
  • Navigate menopause and perimenopause
  • Handle Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS)

Though often associated with family planning, this knowledge is meaningful and useful for women throughout their lives.

In order to provide a reliable and detailed comparison, we tested the two most talked-about devices: the Mira and Inito hormone monitors.

Opening the contestants side-by-side…

Introducing Mira & Inito

Mira was founded in 2015 and released the Mira Hormone Monitor three years later, in 2018. The final product – now recognized as “America’s Highest Rated Fertility Monitor” – combines lab-grade precision with artificial intelligence and machine learning algorithms powered by 25 million hormone data points to analyze users’ hormones in real time and deliver personalized insights

For our purposes, we ordered Mira’s Max Kit, which is their best seller.

Inito was also founded in 2015, and in the same year, it launched the Inito Fertility Monitor, initially compatible with Apple’s iPhone. In June 2025, the company released its first wireless model, now compatible with both iOS and Android devices. Inito’s algorithms are trained on over 1 million hormone data points to enhance the accuracy of hormone trend analysis and fertility predictions.

Both Mira and Inito’s fertility monitors…

  • Identify 6 days of fertility in your cycle
  • Can track levels of estrogen (E3G), luteinizing hormone (LH), follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), and pregnanediol glucuronide (PdG)
  • Are non-invasive
  • Are HSA/FSA eligible
  • Connect to phone-based apps

We further investigated the two options and arranged our findings into the following key categories:

  1. Hormone Analysis Technology & Accuracy
  2. Best Fit by Use Case
  3. App Experience, Data Interpretation & Clinical Support
  4. Reviews & Overall Reception

Without further ado…

We compared the Mira Hormone Monitor to the wireless model of the Inito Fertility Monitor.

Hormone Technology & Accuracy

For a device as technical as a hormone monitor, the underlying science and technology are crucial and directly affect the accuracy of results and overall value. This is where Mira shines.

  • Mira: Tracks four hormones — LH, E3G, PdG, and FSH (luteinizing hormone, estrogen metabolite, pregnanediol glucuronide, follicle-stimulating hormone)… can track all with their Ultra4 wands
  • Inito: Tracks four hormones — LH, E3G, PdG, and FSH

Mira provides lab-grade quantitative results (actual hormone levels) using fluorescent technology, commonly preferred by laboratories and physicians for its high sensitivity even at low hormone concentrations. This level of precision contributes to Mira’s reported 99.5% accuracy rate.

The fluorescent reader works in tandem with Mira’s AI-powered algorithms, which are trained on over 25 million hormone data points across 1.2 million menstrual cycles, to deliver real-time hormone scores and personalized hormone charts. Results are synced to the Mira app in approximately 21 minutes.

Since the 1980s, the Nanogold technology used in Inito’s monitor has been used in traditional ovulation prediction kits (OPKs). Despite the speed of results and their new wireless monitor, Inito relies on technology that’s been used for decades.

By contrast, Mira’s Hormone Monitor brings state-of-the-art, lab-grade tech to your bathroom.

If a picture is worth 1,000 words, a chart is worth even more…

The Mira Hormone Monitor and Inito Fertility Monitor are both FDA registered.

That said, Mira meets international health standards beyond the US-based FDA, as demonstrated by their ISO 13485 certification (certifying top-tier medical device quality and compliance) and MDSAP compliance (meeting regulations set by the US, Canada, and Australia).

In short, Mira confidently connects their customers to cutting edge technology, rather than opting for the faster, more affordable (and often less accurate) alternative. We appreciate speed as much as the next person, but our team was unanimous in valuing reliability over convenience.

Best Fit by Use Case

As suggested by its name, the Inito Fertility Monitor is designed for people who are trying to conceive (TTC). The device is proven to support people with average-length cycles, and its results (a) predict the window of fertility and (b) confirm ovulation.

Mira’s Hormone Monitor accurately interprets irregular cycle lengths as well. Thus, their technology supports people in broader journeys with hormone health as well as those TTC.

In addition to TTC, applications for the Mira Hormone Monitor include managing irregular cycles, detecting hormonal imbalances, better understanding one’s body, and (if applicable) navigating PCOS.

Customers may also use Mira to evaluate their proximity to menopause and, in doing so, take control of an otherwise often tumultuous experience.

Two different monitors, two differently sized clientele.

Mira’s Hormone Monitor is multifunctional. Inito’s Fertility Monitor is single-purpose, as it caters only to regularly ovulating customers trying to conceive.

App Experience, Data Interpretation & Clinical Support

Mira’s top-rated app supports its broad range of use cases. It is formatted as a digital diary and landing spot for hormonal data. Users have access to detailed hormone curves, numeric data points, and clear visuals. The opportunity to log personal symptoms alongside hormone tests allows users to identify and recognize patterns in their bodies over time. As a whole, the Mira app provides an optimal experience for data-driven users.

Hormonal data results are exportable through the Mira app so that they can be shared directly with clinicians in a lab-grade format. This makes Mira a strong choice for those working directly with a doctor.

The Inito Fertility Monitor also pairs with an app, but its result-driven interface is arguably less specific than Mira’s. Fertility test results are presented in color-coded, high-level charts, designed to be digestible for first-time users. While you can share these graphs with a doctor, they are not as precise as Mira’s. For this reason, Inito is generally recommended for people who need only confirmation of ovulation and can do without further details.

Reviews & Overall Reception

Mira has received press and awards from impressively high-profile media juggernauts: FastCompany, Forbes, and Healthline (to name just a few). In 2023, Mira was the Highest-Ranking Femtech Company on Inc.’s 5000 list for the year, and founder Sylvia Kang was on Inc.’s Female Founders 250 list in 2024. This year, What to Expect awarded Mira the “Best Overall Fertility Tracker of 2025.”

Just a snippet of the Mira coverage we found…

In 2019, Inito’s founder Aayush Rai made the Forbes Asia 30 Under 30 list for healthcare and science. Beyond this feature, we couldn’t find additional industry-distributed writing about Inito’s fertility monitor.

On the product side, The Mira Max Kit has an average rating of 4.7/5 stars, based on just over 2,500 reviews. Inito falls slightly behind with an average rating of 4.3/5 stars based on 1,388 reviews.

To throw some more numbers into the mix, the Inito website boasts 20k+ users, which was impressive until we learned that Mira has a customer base of 150k families (across 115 countries).

TL;DR: Our Hearts (And the Science) Led Us to Mira

Our team collectively favored Mira by the end of our trial and review process. Mira continues to put their best foot forward in serving customers and the greater sphere of fertility and reproductive health.

The combination of lab-grade fluorescent technology with algorithms trained on 25M+ hormone data points, simple at-home use, top notch app experience, and ability to meet the needs of physicians, represents medical technology at its best.

Mira’s revered status in the industry, among customers and medical professionals alike, was the cherry on top.

Track your cycle. Know your patterns. Optimize your health. America’s top-rated hormone monitor is 20% off for a limited-time.
