Why We’re Supporting These Clean Beauty Companies

Life is all about the little things. The small decisions that you make every day, and how those decisions affect your well-being. One of the most important decisions you can make for yourself is to support a company that shares your values, especially when it comes to sustainability, cruelty-free products, and eco-friendly practices.

Clean beauty products are made without ingredients or practices that harm human health, animals, or the planet, as opposed to conventional beauty which is largely unregulated in the US. For example, the FDA has only banned 11 ingredients while the EU bans over 1,300.

Conventional beauty companies keep making products with harmful or chemical ingredients, which is unacceptable given that we now have the resources and technology to innovate using ingredients that aren’t potentially harmful irritants, known carcinogens or endocrine disruptors.

On the other hand, it’s also important that skincare products actually produce results, whether it’s a moisturizer you use every day or a youth-boosting glycolic peel that leaves your skin glowing.

We’ve had our eye on these four companies that will give you your best skin while making as small of an impact on the planet as possible.

Sunday Riley

As a pioneer in the space of clean and organic beauty, Sunday Riley is committed to giving you healthy skin without compromising on performance. Sunday Riley’s small-batch, gentle formulas are made with balanced botanicals, no artificial fragrances, and clinically proven ingredients carefully sourced from around the world. What we love most about Sunday Riley is that they have a “Green Technology Commitment” on their website that outlines their dedication to responsibly sourced ingredients and sustainable production processes.

The Ordinary

Integrity is hard to come by in the beauty world. Brands disguise simple technologies as advanced in an attempt to drive their prices up. The Ordinary calls those companies out. On top of that, all of their products are free of parabens, sulphates, mineral oil, methylchloroisothiazolinone, methylisothiazolinone, animal oils, coal tar dyes, formaldehyde, mercury, oxybenzone, and they don’t test on animals or allow their products to be sold in countries where animal testing is required for the sale of beauty products.

Lush Cosmetics

Lush offers a range of natural, organic hand-made products that are safe for animals, people, and the planet. They use only vegetarian, cruelty-free ingredients made from fruits and vegetables and their products do not have any preservatives. They use a packaging-free system for their solid products like body bars, while any bottles are made with 100% post-consumer recycled plastic. Lush also provides information about when their products are made, so customers can rest assured they’re getting the freshest products.

Tata Harper

The Tata Harper brand is a luxury organic skin care line that uses ingredients from all over the world. They utilize ECOCERT certified methods to create 100% natural, cruelty-free products with top-of-the-line efficacy and quality standards. Tata Harper cosmetics sources more than 300 different ingredients from 68 countries, making them one of the most comprehensive brands in terms of sourcing their materials for use in their range of high end moisturizers and cleansers. They are committed to using ingredients derived from renewable resources, manufactured by environmentally friendly processes, and free from GMOs and synthetics.

Switching over your routine can be daunting at first (especially if you already have a routine that works for you), but with these clean beauty lines, it couldn’t be easier.
